Monday thru Friday they have specials for $5. On Monday you can get a large cheese pizza for $5, Tuesday a whole rotisserie chicken for $5 but the best deal is Thursday -- you can get a bucket of 8 pieces fried or baked chicken. I have found their fried chicken to be very good -- rarely get it but it is quite tasty. I might pick some up this Thursday.The Wednesday meal is some type of green dinner salad and Friday is sushi which I do not eat. Several people commented that their sushi is good. And on Thursday you get an extra 5% off as a senior. Yipeeeee!  |

That's too bad. Yes I think those $5 specials have been VERY popular -- go earlier in the day I imagine. The sweet spot to me is about 11 am -- the chicken is freshly cooked but the lunch rush has not yet begun. |

My local store has fried chicken, baked chicken, and rotisserie chicken, depending on your bent.Fried and baked whole chicken pieces $9.99 (in lides white meat) Fried dark meat is $7.99 as is regular price on rotisserie chicken. The "2 days later" of the fried and baked..any style is $5.
Monday is a good day for that..left over from weekend. Tues often works too. I buy the last ...2 or 3 if I can and freeze the pieces. If not, I buy the $7 dark. I like ALL chicken..unless the white breast meat is dried out. Freezing is a way to stretch my food dollars. And I LOVE chicken... |

| | Because of listeria in deli meat we normally buy (national news) we have been buying different lunch meat for 2 weeks. Publix has fried chicken breast tenders for $9/lb in the ready-to-eat hot food area (next to deli) which is less per lb than deli chicken. Not a great $$ bargain compared to buying on sale and cooking but better price than deli which has preservatives. |

| My King Soopers here in Denver in the meat section has meats for $5. I pick up thin sliced breasts, a big pack of drumsticks, a pack of pork chops. I saw the other day they added wings also for $5. I use whatever for dinner and freeze the rest. You can't beat that |
