Monday is National Cheeseburger Day: Here are the deals to relish

New York CNN  —

Nowadays, it would be challenging to find anything at the store for less than a dollar. But on Monday, in celebration of National Hamburger Day, McDonald’s patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy a double hamburger for only 50 cents, just 45 cents more than the chain’s initial hamburger price in 1948.

This deal is exclusively available to customers who utilize the McDonald’s app and it is limited to one burger per individual. According to the official website of the company, a McDonald’s hamburger typically ranges from as low as $1 to as high as $2.79.

The fast-food industry has traditionally been a low-profit sector with minimal customer loyalty. In order to boost their business, chains commonly introduce generous giveaways, often tied to their mobile apps. Encouraging people to use the app has proven effective in attracting repeat customers.

McDonald’s is not the sole burger chain offering promotions. Wendy’s is currently selling its junior bacon hamburger for just one cent until September 22, provided you purchase something else from the menu.

Additionally, if Burger King were to neglect National Hamburger Day, it would likely risk losing its dominant position. Dedicated customers who enroll in the chain’s Royal Perks program will receive a complimentary hamburger, but only with a minimum purchase of one dollar.

Regional chains such as Smashburger, Krystal, and Carl’s Jr. are also providing discounted hamburgers.

Such promotions are not unprecedented. Many burger chains have previously offered special deals on National Hamburger Day.
